Origami Chat

AI chat platform

An AI chat that knows your business and can act in it

Origami Chat is our AI chat platform. It answers from your own documents and data, connects to your systems so customers and staff can get things done, and hands over to your people when it should. We integrate it with your systems and run it for you.

Prefer to write? Contact us

We integrate Origami Chat with each client's systems, so there is no self-serve signup: it starts with a conversation.

Channels

Where your customers and staff reach it

One platform, set up for the places where people already talk to you.

  • Website live chat

A chat widget on your website, added with a script, or a hosted chat page of its own.

  • Internal assistant

An assistant for your staff that answers from company documents and works with your internal systems.

  • Human handoff

When a conversation needs a person, it passes to your own people or support team.

  • Messaging apps

Conversations in messaging apps such as Slack, Microsoft Teams, Telegram or WhatsApp.

Capabilities

What Origami Chat does

The parts every integration is built from, configured for each client.

  • Answers from your documents

Answers are drawn from your own documents and data (retrieval-augmented generation, or RAG), so replies are about your business, not general ones.

  • Actions in your systems

Through our MCP layer, the chat can look things up and take actions in the systems you connect.

  • Images and documents in the chat

Users can upload images and documents in the conversation for the assistant to work with.

  • Fallbacks you choose

Another model, a person, or a plain statement that the answer is not in your documents, set per client.

  • Separate for each client

Multi-tenant: each client has its own configuration and its own data.

  • Everything logged

Conversations and actions are logged, so you can see what was asked, what was answered and what was done.

Fallbacks

A plan B for every conversation

Each client chooses what happens when something does not work out, and different clients can use different fallback scenarios.

  • Model fallbackIf a model or provider fails or is slow, the chat switches to another model or provider.
  • Self-hosted and private modelsModels can run on our GPU servers or on your infrastructure, not only through cloud APIs.
  • Human fallbackWhen the AI cannot help, it hands the conversation to a person or collects contact details so your team can follow up.
  • Retrieval fallbackWhen the answer is not in your documents, it says so instead of guessing.

Fallbacks are part of each client's configuration and can be changed as your needs change.

MCP actions

Not only answers: actions in your systems

Origami Chat has its own MCP layer for connecting to your systems, so your customers and staff can get things done inside the conversation instead of being sent elsewhere.

  • Connected to your systemsWe connect the chat to the systems you choose, through our MCP layer.
  • Actions agreed with youWhich actions are available, and to whom, is decided with you during the integration.
  • Logged with the conversationEach action is logged next to the conversation it came from.

Actions such as

  • Check an order
  • Book an appointment
  • Open a support ticket

Use cases

How businesses put it to work

Sample integrations for customers and for staff. Each real integration is built around the client's own systems, rules and channels.

For your customers

  • Online retail

    Order and returns desk

Customers ask about an order on the website or in a messaging app and get an answer about their own order, not a general one.

    Connected to systems such as

    • Online shop
    • Order and warehouse system
    • Helpdesk

    In the conversation

    • Look up the order and delivery status
    • Start a return within the return policy
    • Open a ticket with the customer's photo of a damaged item

Handover to a person. When a refund falls outside the policy, or the customer asks for a person.

  • Clinics and practices

    Appointments and patient questions

Patients book, move or cancel appointments and get answers about services, preparation and documents to bring. Conversations can stay on private models when patient data must not leave servers you choose.

    Connected to systems such as

    • Booking calendar
    • Practice management system
    • Service information

    In the conversation

    • Find a free slot and book it
    • Move or cancel an existing appointment
    • Send the preparation instructions for the visit

Handover to a person. When a question is medical, it goes to the practice team instead of being answered by the AI.

  • Software and SaaS

    Product support

Users get answers from the product documentation and help with their own account, with screenshots attached in the chat.

    Connected to systems such as

    • Documentation and knowledge base
    • Billing and subscriptions
    • Issue tracker

    In the conversation

    • Answer from the documentation, with the sources shown
    • Check the user's plan and invoices
    • File a bug report with the screenshots and steps attached

Handover to a person. When the issue needs an engineer, the conversation and its files go to the support queue.

For your team

  • HR and people

    Employee assistant

Staff get answers from the handbook and policies, and handle routine requests without a long email chain.

    Connected to systems such as

    • HR system
    • Intranet and policy documents
    • Leave calendar

    In the conversation

    • Answer policy questions with the source document
    • Show the remaining leave balance
    • Submit a leave request for approval

Handover to a person. When a question is personal or sensitive, it goes to the HR team.

  • IT and operations

    Internal IT helpdesk

Employees describe a problem in their own words, or send a screenshot of the error, and get step-by-step help from your IT guides.

    Connected to systems such as

    • IT guides and runbooks
    • Ticketing system
    • Device and licence inventory

    In the conversation

    • Walk the employee through a fix from the guides
    • Check which device or licence is assigned to them
    • Open a ticket with the screenshot and the steps already tried

Handover to a person. When the fix needs admin rights, or the problem affects more than one person.

  • Sales and field teams

    Sales assistant

Sales and field staff get product, stock and customer information in one conversation instead of searching several systems.

    Connected to systems such as

    • ERP
    • CRM
    • Product catalogue and price lists

    In the conversation

    • Check stock and delivery dates for a product
    • Pull up the customer's recent orders and open issues
    • Prepare a draft quote in the CRM for review

Handover to a person. When a discount or terms need a manager's approval.

These are examples. The systems, actions and rules for each client are agreed during the integration, and each action is logged with the conversation it came from.

How it works

How an integration works

Origami Chat is specialized software. We integrate it with each client's systems carefully, step by step, rather than through an automated setup.

  1. Talk to us

Tell us who the chat is for, which documents and systems it should use, and where people should reach it.

  2. Connect documents and systems

We connect your documents and data and set up the MCP actions for your systems.

  3. Set models, fallbacks and channels

We configure the models, fallbacks, human handoff and channels for your case.

  4. Go live

You get a hosted chat page, a script to embed the chat in your own systems, or both, and we keep running it.

The timeline depends on your systems and scope, and comes as a plan once we have looked at them together.

Security and audit

Every conversation and action on the record

An AI that can act in your systems has to be accountable for what it does.

  • Full audit trailConversations and the actions taken in your systems are logged.
  • Separate per clientEach client's configuration and data are kept apart from every other client's.
  • Private models when you need themKeep conversations on private models, on our GPU servers or on your own infrastructure, when cloud APIs are not an option.

Managed by TOC
