How an infrastructure consultation works

We review your current infrastructure, on-premises and in the cloud, against what the business needs from it: performance, availability, security, compliance and cost.

We start with discovery: interviews with IT and business stakeholders and a review of systems and their dependencies. We then decide workload by workload where each one should run. The result is a written assessment and a phased roadmap that keeps useful existing investments and replaces only what holds you back.

What you get

What the engagement leaves you with.

  • Vendor-neutral recommendations based on your workloads, not on a product line

  • One assessment covering technical, operational and financial factors

  • A phased roadmap that reuses current investments where they still fit

  • Security and compliance requirements built into the architecture from the start

Frequently asked questions

How do you approach cloud vs. on-premises infrastructure decisions?

We decide per workload instead of following a "cloud-first" or "on-premises first" rule. For each workload we look at performance requirements, data gravity, security and compliance needs, operations, short- and long-term cost, and architectural fit. The outcome is often a hybrid setup, with each workload where it runs best.

How do you handle security considerations during infrastructure consultation?

Security is part of the architecture work from the start. We apply security principles in the design, weigh the security capabilities of each technology, and recommend controls that match each workload's sensitivity. Where you have specific compliance requirements, we align recommendations with the relevant standards (e.g., PCI DSS, HIPAA, ISO 27001). If a deeper security assessment is needed, our security team can run it as part of the same engagement.

Do we need to replace all our infrastructure to see improvements?

No. We usually find improvements that can be made within your existing infrastructure. Where new investment is needed, we plan it in phases so that you keep what still works and replace only the parts that limit you.

What preparation should we do before engaging in infrastructure consultation?

It helps to: list your current pain points; gather what you know about existing systems and their dependencies; name the key stakeholders in IT and the business; clarify the business goals IT has to support; set a rough budget range; and decide how much change you can absorb. If you don't have all of this, our discovery phase will collect it.
